To us, Wendi Winters was synonymous with The Capital. She wrote the first article about HERE. a pop-up shop that properly explained who we were & really captured our essence. She included us in the Capital Style Magazine “Women of the Year 2013” article during our first holiday pop-up. We were young, still green in our business and weary because some reporters kept getting it wrong, but she put us as ease, talking about her fashion experience and really getting to know us. She even let us look at the photos (that she took herself!) to make sure we approved. We learned so much and met so many other reporters and important local press at her famous PR Bazaar. We can’t remember how or why, but she invited us to another, smaller, event at The Gazette building to learn about promoting ourselves professionally and properly to & with the media. She was generous in her teachings, had endless energy and loved what she did. We crossed paths lots over the years. She was always kind to us and diligent in her reporting. She last popped-in to our holiday 2017 shop and quoted us in her article about Midnight Madness. We are deeply saddened by this huge loss to our community, her colleagues, friends and especially her family. She touched many lives and her voice and energy will be missed. While we did not know the others lost in the tragic shooting, we are equally distraught over the senseless end to their lives and send our love to their peers, families and friends. 💔 xo
